
The CounterBalance IslandBracket or CounterPlate can be installed in one of two ways. For a quick installation, simply screw the Bracket or Plate directly to the cabinet or stud wall. This will require shimming the countertop for a level installation. A better alternative is the routered install. This will permit a flush countertop installation and a router guide is available for the CounterBalance CounterPlate to simplify installation. Directions for both installation types are provided below:

Measure 10 1/8" in from the back of the cabinet and scribe a
line.

Using the router with 1/4" bit, router top of cabinet to
line.

Scribe a line onto the top side of cabinet the bracket will be attached
to.

Using a circular saw set at a 1" depth make a cut.

Place bracket onto top of routered cabinet, position front side of notch up
against outside cabinet wall, mark point in each slot to be drilled, remove
bracket.

Drill holes, place bracket back into position and attach with screws. Repeat
as necessary and set top into
position.

NEVER set tops directly on plate or bracket at an angle when setting tops.
ALWAYS set tops from opposite side of stud wall or from front of

Place plate where support is needed making sure to leave 1/2" of wood stud
wall and trace shape onto stud wall.

Using the router with 1/4" bit, router out traced shape.

Place plate into routered area and mark holes for drilling, remove
plate.

Drill pilot holes and place plate back into position and attach with the
provided screws.

Repeat steps as necessary for additional plates.
